This training package provides some basic information on how a new MODIS product “false color snow imagery” can be used to monitor snow cover and to distinguish between snow cover and clouds.
The image at the right is an example of the product produced from a combination of 3 MODIS channels. The product is available at 500m resolution for day light passes.
The charts touch on basic remote sensing theory, how the product is generated, and provides examples and interpretation of the products. Additional sources of information are provide as well.
